Medical Director

Dr. Gary M. Proulx is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist who has spent his career serving the northeast. He studied applied mathematics and biophysics at Columbia University, before completing his doctorate of medicine at Harvard University. He completed his residency and fellowship at Harvard-Massachusetts General Hospital. After training, he completed board certification in 1997. He additionally completed eight years of service in the National Guard Medical Corp as an Army Captain and Physician. His diverse background of research, teaching, and patient care makes him an expert in his field.

In addition to his vast array of experience in the medical field, Dr. Proulx is an incredible physician. He brings his patients impeccable levels of kindness and genuine care. He is excited to step into the realm of aesthetics and is pursuing his Board Certification in Aesthetic Medicine. Sarah has shared her love for aesthetic medicine with her husband, Dr. Proulx, where the two have developed a passion. Because of his strong Physics background, it is his goal to develop the laser side of the business.

Dr. Proulx is currently an active member of several organizations including the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM). He began his growth in the aesthetic world in 2013 with hands on training in aesthetic techniques such as neuromodulators, fillers, lasers, and IPL through IAPAM. He regularly attends courses to further his education to remain on top of the most recent technology and techniques of this rapidly evolving field.

Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®

Botox® , Dysport®, and Xeomin® are all made from purified forms of botulinum toxin. They block nerve signals that contract muscles. When they’re injected into muscles, the muscles relax, which eliminates or significantly diminishes wrinkles.

Botox® and Dysport® (onabotulinumtoxinA) target one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Botox® and Dysport® temporarily reduce this muscle activity so you’ll begin to notice a visible smoothing of these lines.

Juvéderm®, Restylane®, Versa®, Bellafill® & Sculptra®

Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Revanesse® fillers all contain hyaluronic acid (HA) mixed in a smooth gel with lidocaine. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body, but we unfortunately produce less of it as we age. In skin cells, HA attracts and holds onto moisture which allows skin to feel plump and hydrated. This helps skin to stretch, flex, and reduces wrinkles. In other parts of the body HA is responsible for lubricating joints and has even been found to increase wound healing!

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is done in the office without anesthesia. The area to be treated will be cleansed with alcohol.

A liquid solution is slowly injected into the vein using a very small needle. These chemicals irritate the vessel wall/lining causing an inflammation and then internal scarring.

Once the needle is withdrawn, your provider will apply a cotton compression dressing to the area. The number of injections depends on the number of veins that need to be treated.

Compression stockings are applied immediately after completion of treatment. Compression helps blood from being trapped in the problem vein(s), and keeps the vein walls collapsed so that scarring can take place.
